"Hello everybody... Just to give you a bit of background....I set up Shine in 2006 after recognising a niche in the market for a new and vibrant modelling agency in Yorkshire supplying both advertising firms and clients alike.
I had found that if you wanted good calibre models, or promotional staff, then you had to look outside the region to agencies who did not know the local talent or who charged over the odds for models to travel in. Hence the creation of Shine, with the plan of supplying sales-savvy promotional staff and top calibre models to support sales and marketing campaigns and fashion events in and around Yorkshire.
Word of Shine's reputation has now spread beyond Yorkshire. Shine's careful, dedicated and fair approach has not only made us the leading agency in Yorkshire, but has led to demand from outside the region from clients who are tired of dealing with impersonal high volume agencies. So in March 2010 we opened our first London office, with the firm aim of maintaining our good honest Yorkshire values in representing clients across the Capital and Europe.
So what makes Shine different? This is what I call the Shine promise:-
Integrity: The modelling agency industry has a poor reputation, and often deservedly so. Early on we decided that we would never charge models to join our agency, and we would never exploit young people in our quest for success.
Ethics: We represent models and promotional staff of all size, shape, colour and background. Recognising that the real World doesn't want Size Zero girls, in 2008 we launched our Call for Curves campaign, which received nationwide acclaim.
Sales-savvy: Recognising that our clients aims are usually to sell their own brand values, and not just look good, Shine makes an extra effort to find and train promotional staff who are focused on sales success.
Attention to detail: Every campaign is personally managed by one of the Shine team, and our clients frequently tell us that it is our attention to detail that makes their campaigns so successful.
A personal approach: We take the time to get to know all of our models and promotional individuals personally. We meet them at our regular casting events, we take the time to get to know them, and we ensure they are properly briefed and de-briefed on every customer campaign. Knowing them all personally, and knowing that every individual we represent has my mobile phone number and feels free to use it, gives me the confidence that we are only supplying the very best individuals to support our clients!
